Tom O’Neil: (Regarding motives for the Manson murders) (From Video #9: Manson and The Secret War of the 60’s, Tom O’Neil (Sept. 14, 2021).
“If you look at the (FBI’s) COINTELPRO objectives, which were to neutralize the left-wing movement and make them look horrible, evil, and bad and this is what drugs are going to do to your kids… The kind of outcome that these (Tate-LaBianca) murders (of 1969) had was to make the hippies into the boogie man… the biggest boogie man in US history, at least until the 1970’s, was Charlie Manson. This is what the CIA’s CHAOS and the FBI’s COINTELPRO programs were trying to do… damage the youth movement, the youth revolution….. They were especially going after the elite whites of Hollywood movies and music who were supporting the Black Panthers…. This could have been a CHAOS-COINTELPRO operation to turn the world, the nation, the culture against the hippies, the left wing, the Black Panthers.
.. The purpose of the FBI’s COINTELPRO was either to kill the leaders of these 60’s counterculture groups, or get them put into prison. The FBI actually acknowledged killing 20 to 30 of these leaders.”
Key elements of O’Neil’s narrative derived from the below interviews, as compiled by Webmaster:
“It was in the federal prisons that all this CIA MKULTRA research was going on…. These prisoners were getting LSD and West was hypnotizing them in some cases. It was worse than the Nazis; the mind is the most important thing, other than your soul, and they’re tampering with it. Charles Manson was in these prisons, including Vacaville (California Medical Facility), which was for mentally disturbed prisoners, from the mid-1950’s until his release in 1967. I’m building a case that this all began when he was experimented on in prisons. Manson studied Scientology at McNeil Island Corrections Center off the coast of Seattle, Washington between 1961 and 1965. He had also learned the arts of hypnosis from a US Navy hypnotist who called himself Deanyer, who was arrested and tried in 1958 or 1959 for brainwashing and raping numerous 12- to 17-year old girls; i.e., for doing exactly what Manson did later.
When Manson was released from prison in LA in 1967, he immediately violated his parole by going to San Francisco without permission. (Despite committing many, many crimes between 1967 and 1969, he was protected by someone and not re-arrested until after the “Manson murders” in 1969)…. All of a sudden, he got re-assigned to a federal parole officer in San Francisco named Roger Smith who was a criminalogy student at Berkeley and a drug researcher at the Haight-Ashbury Free Medical Clinic, and who also became his handler. That’s where things get really crazy.
Dr. Louis Jolyon West was a top, academic CIA-contract psychiatrist who was an expert in violence, hypnotism, LSD, and brainwashing. He went on leave of absence from the University of Oklahoma to study the explosion of the “summer of love” in San Francisco in 1967. Somehow, he anticipated this would happen six months before the event. He went to the Haight and opened up what he called a laboratory, the Haight-Ashbury Free Medical Clinic, that was disguised as a hippie crash pad with hippie posters, etc. In January, 1967, he told his six graduate students to grow their hair long because he wanted them to staff this hippie crash pad laboratory and study the young kids who were going to invade San Francisco the following the summer. How did he know this would happen? It was engineered to happen by people in government…
West had been working in the CIA’s MKULTRA program since 1953. The ultimate goal of this program was to learn how to create programmed assassins, i.e., people who would kill without remorse and have no recollection of the killing or of their programming West’s specialty was to mix hypnosis with a variety of drugs to manipulate his subjects. He was a very well known psychiatrist, who became head of the Psychiatry Department at UCLA shortly thereafter. Together with Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, CIA director of Technical Services Division who oversaw the MKULTRA program, West created the blueprint for the Manchurian Candidate program. In Charles Manson, West helped create the perfect Manchurian Candidate.
“…. They (the Manson Family cult murderers) were “stalking and targeting” (specific people), “at least one of those four people, maybe two, maybe all four” (including Sharon Tate and LaBianca).
I’ve got a paper record of West corresponding with Gottlieb during the period of 1953 to 1967.* West had stated he wanted to take the CIA mind control experiments “out into the field.” At the Haight-Ashbury Free Medical Clinic, he did this by recruiting mind control subjects, some of whom became the Manson Family members who participated in the Manson murders. He also also assisted in transforming Manson, an illiterate 32-year old conman, into this guru with of 30 to 40 followers who would do anything he told them to do.
Information about this top-secret program came out at the Church Senate Committee hearings in the mid 1970s. The State Department’s John Marks got the MKULTRA records and wrote a book about it (“In Search of the Manchurian Candidate: The CIA and Mind Control: The Secret History of the Behavioral Sciences”). These records identified Dr. Jolyon West as one of the top CIA psychiatrists.
West was also Jack Ruby’s psychiatrist. West inserted himself into the Ruby case after Ruby was convicted of killing Lee Harvey Oswald in 1964. Ruby’s defense argument had been that he had had an epileptic fit and had shot him and was amnesic of the shooting. So West inserts himself into the case and gets assigned through his connections to Ruby’s new lawyer, Hubert Winston Smith. He went to Dallas County Jail in April, 1964, to examine Ruby in preparation for his next trial because West had gotten an appeal for a psychiatric review. In their early 1950s correspondence, West had told Sidney Gottlieb (who the CIA’s MKULTRA program) that part of his experimentation was to induce insanity in a person without their awareness. West examined Ruby and when he emerged from the jail he announced to the press that in the preceding 48 hours Ruby had had a psychotic break that was irrevocable. That is, that he was completely insane and he couldn’t return to sanity. He had had audio and visual hallucinations during the exam. Ruby told West that he could hear Jewish children being boiled alive outside his cell and he hid under his table in fear because he thought there were people who were trying to kill him. (Webmaster comment: These sound and visual effects could have been created by Voice To Skull (V2K) or Voice-Of-God weapons.)
Prior to Ruby’s examinations with West, there was no evidence of Ruby being insane. West treated Ruby for about 6 months and was alone with Ruby in the cell during that time. When Ruby finally gave his testimony to the Warren Commission, Warren, Joe Ford, and the young Arlen Spectre (an investigator for the Warren Commission who came up with the “Magic Bullet Conclusion”) put Ruby under oath and Ruby babbled, was incoherent. He grabbed Spectre, who was, like him Jewish, and said: “Don’t you know they are killing Jews and they killed my brother and cut off his legs. I can hear them being tortured outside my cell?” Remember, West had already told Gottlieb he had developed the techniques to induce insanity without the person’s awareness.
Ruby had a lot of connections to organized crime and been part of the CIA’s anti-Castro Cuban effort to assassinate Castro, called Operation Mongoose. Ruby had admitted to West that he was working with the people who were suspected of being involved in the assassination in a conspiracy. West withheld that information from the Warren Commission. In 1978, the House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded there was a probable conspiracy to kill Kennedy; that Oswald hadn’t acted alone. Robert Blakley was on this committee and he wrote a book about this and he concluded that Ruby had acted on behalf of a conspiracy to silence Oswald, and that he had stalked him and had premeditated the murder.
Webmaster comment: I keyed in on O’Neil’s use of the terms “stalking and targeting” above for two reasons:
1) These terms are commonly applied to explain what happens to “targeted individuals” who have been secretly designated as “enemies of the state” and designated as targets of the global “organized stalking-electronic torture” program, and
2) It appears that the same agencies that were involved in the Manson-Tate-LaBianca murders of 1969, namely the CIA and FBI, with complicity from local police, law enforcement, and the judicial system, are also behind the global targeting program.
Thus, I believe we can establish an historical continuity of US government-sponsored mind control-targeting-assassination programs, stretching from the 1950’s CIA-military mind control programs (Bluebird, Artichoke, MKULTRA, etc.) which went “operational” in the 1960’s with the Manson murders and continue to the present. The common modus operandi is that government agencies (FBI, CIA, law enforcement, etc.) create MKULTRA mind control-assassins through torture and trauma-based mind control. Then they deploy these programmed “Manchurian Candidate”-assassins against innocent civilians for the purposes of terrorizing the domestic population. Alan Dulles, CIA Director between 1953-1963, referred to these kinds of operations as “peace-keeping operations.”
On a somewhat grander canvas, O’Neil’s research exposes much about the undeclared war the US government waged against the 1960’s counterculture; a counterculture which they, in fact, created! That same dynamic is apparently at work today with the US government’s undeclared war against “targeted individuals,” “extremists,” white supremacists,” veterans, patriots, Christians, Trump-supporters, i.e., people labelled as “potential terrorist threats” and “enemy non-combatants” in the so-called “Global War On Terror.” The picture that emerges, in my opinion, is one of massive, massive treason on the part of the US government against the American people that traces back to the end of World War II or earlier. Furthermore, the “Praetorian Guard’s” incessant justification of their crimes on the pretext of “national security” is also proven to be a massive lie. Rather, the singular concern of these criminals is to maintain their security from apprehension and prosecution for their crimes.
Incidentally, Dr. Louis Jolyon West was also the official psychiatrist for Sirhan Sirhan, who was accused of shooting Robert F. Kennedy, and Timothy McVeigh, accused of carrying out the Oklahoma City Bombing. (It’s a small MKULTRA world.)
* Not surprisingly, both Drs. Sidney Gottlieb and Louis Jolyon West were born Jewish.

1) Dr. Louis Jolyon “Jolly” West served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received his M.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1948, prior to obtaining MKULTRA contracts to carry out research on LSD. He did his psychiatry residency from 1949 to 1952 at Cornell University, an MKULTRA Institution and the site of the MKULTRA cut-out, The Human Ecology Foundation. West had TOP SECRET clearance from the CIA in order to carry out MKULTRA Subproject 43 (“studies of dissociative states”) at the University of Oklahoma in 1956. In his MKULTRA Subproject 43 proposal, Dr. West described a research plan that involved many mind control techniques used in Communist China and by what he termed “destructive cults.” In part, this proposal reads:
It is proposed that the experiments begun during 1955-56 involving hypnotizability, suggestibility, and the role of certain drugs in altering these attributes, be continued and extended during 1956-57….. Experiments involving altered personality function as a result of environmental manipulation (chiefly sensory isolation) have yielded promising leads in terms of suggestibility and production of trance-like states. There is reason to believe that environmental manipulations can affect the tendencies for dissociative mental manipulations to occur. Isolation, in particular, can markedly change the individual’s response…. All the above recommended experimental procedures will require special equipment, special methodologies, and special skills… a unique laboratory must be organized and constructed. This laboratory will include a special chamber, in which all psychologically significant aspects of the environment can be controlled. In this setting the various hypnotic, pharmacological, and sensory-environmental variables will be manipulated in a controlled fashion and quantitative recording of the reactions of the experimental subjects will be made (from Ross, 2000).
The above paragraph makes it clear that “suggestability,” trance-like states” and “altered personality function” are the desired ends. These ends are to be achieved by “environmental manipulations,” “certain drugs,” and “dissociative mental manipulations” in a laboratory with “special chamber” that facilitates control of “hypnotic, pharmacological, and sensory-environment variables.” Some Dr. West’s professional papers include: “Sleep deprivation” (Brauchi and West, 1959), “Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD): It’s effects on the male Asiatic elephant” (West, et al., 1962), “Brainwashing” (West, et al., 1963), “Hypnosis and experimental psychopathology” (Deckert and West, 1963), “Sensory isolation” (1963), “Monkeys and brainwashing” (West, 1964), “Psychiatry, brainwashing, and the American character” (West, 1964), “Dissociative reactions” (West, 1967), “Hallucinogens, flight from violence: Hippies and the green rebellion” (Allen and West, 1968), “Hippie culture” (West and Allen, 1968), “Campus unrest and the counter culture” (West, 1970), “Contemporary cults: Utopian images, internal reality” (1982), “Cults, liberty, and mind control” (1982), and “Persuasive techniques in contemporary cults” (West, 1989).
In “Bluebird: The Deliberate Creation of Multiple Personality By Psychiatrists,” Dr. A. Colin Ross (2000) concludes:
“Dr. West devoted four decades to study, writing, and experimenting on dissociation, hypnosis, Communist mind control, hallocinogens, sensory deprivation, and methods of social influence; he concluded that the methods used by destructive cults result in the creation of new identities and dissociated states (West and Martin, 1994). The same methods, when applied to experimental subjects under BLUEBIRD, ARTICHOKE and MKULTRA, also resulted in the creation of amnesia, new identities, and dissociated states. This was the Manchurian Candidate program.”
Let’s see….. West concludes that the “methods used by destructive cults result in the creation of new identities and dissociated states”…. If I recall, this was Cameron’s goal too in his “depatterning” and “psychic driving” “experiments,” wasn’t it?….. First, you erase or “de-pattern” the mind and then you create new identities….. Look Ma, now we’re playing god! Might “the creation of new identities and dissociated states” in “destructive cults” also be among the principle goals of the program’s now being implemented in Crestone/Baca? This will be the subject of the next and final segment of this investigative series.
2) In Acid Dreams: The Complete Social History of LSD: The CIA, the Sixties, and Beyond (1985), Lee and Shlain state:
“Beautific, oceanic, redemptive- these words have been used to describe the peak of an LSD trip. But there is another side to it. To be cast about as flotsam in the power draughts of the universe can be a hellish as well as a heavenly ordeal. Both possibilities are rooted in the experience of depersonalization or ego loss. The CIA was not interested in the therapeutic applications of LSD. On the contrary, the men of ARTICHOKE and MK-ULTRA defined the drug as an anxiety-producing agent, and they realized it be relatively easy to “break” a person who was exposed to highly stressful stimuli while high on acid. As one CIA document instructed: “Whatever reduces integrative capacity may serve to increase the possibility of an individual being overwhelmed by frustrations and conflicts hitherto managed successfully.” The powerful ego-shattering effects of LSD were ideally suited for this purpose. CIA and military interrogators proceeded to utilize the drug as an instrument of psychological torture.
In 1953, the CIA made plans to purchase ten kilograms of LSD for use in “drug experiments with animals and human beings.” Since there are 10,000 doses in a single gram of LSD, the CIA was asking for 100 million doses! The CIA’s goal was obviously to corner the market on LSD to determine the potential for “LSD warfare.” Between 1953 and the mid-60’s, the CIA and DOD continued to order great quantities of LSD. During the 1960’s, even after extensive testing had shown that LSD produces psychosis, the CIA, in partnership with mafia distributers, dumped enormous quantities of LSD on the American public.”
Lee and Schlain (1985) continue:
“No doubt about it- LSD was a devastating weapon. Richard Helms, CIA director during the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, had once described the drug as “dynamite….” As men of science and espionage they were obliged to consider every permutation of havoc that acid might wreak upon a generation of restless juveniles. If LSD makes a person insane- and surely that was what the tests had shown- then would a collective mass not suffer a similar crippling departure from the psychic status quo?
One way or another, something very strange was going on behind the scenes. Rumors of conspiracy circulated among the street people. “The CIA is poisoning the acid these days to make everyone go on bad trips,” complained one LSD user.”
Lee and Schlain (1985) conclude:
“Yes, a lot of weird drugs were floating around Haight-Ashbury. The neighborhood was clotted with youngsters whose minds had been jerked around ruthlessly by chemicals touted for their euphoric properties. Much of the LSD turning up on the street was fortified with some sort of additive, usually speed or strychnine*, or in some cases, insecticide.
(* Strychnine, a poison that is lethal in sufficient quantities, was listed in an inventory of biochemical agents stockpiled by the CIA. Other drugs in the CIA’s medicine chest included tachrin (a vomit-inducing agent), 2,4, pyrolo (“causes temporary amnesia”), M-246 (“produces paralysis”), neurokinin (“produces severe pain”), digitoxin (for inducing a heart attack) and seven BZ homologues.)
And what was the CIA up to while its perennial partner of convenience, Organized crime, was dumping bad acid on the black market? According to a former CIA contract employee, Agency personnel helped underground chemists set up LSD laboratories in the Bay Area during the Summer of Love to “monitor” events in the acid ghetto. But why, if this assertion is true, would the CIA be interested in keeping tabs on the hippie population? Law enforcement is not a plausible explanation, for there were already enough narcs operating in the Haight. Then what was the motive? A CIA agent who claims to have infiltrated the covert LSD network provides a clue when he referred to Haight-Ashbury as a “human guinea pig farm.””
Were there other motives for the CIA activities? Lee and Schlain continue:
“…..Reflecting upon the sixties, a surprising number of counterculture veterans endorsed the notion that the CIA disseminated street acid en masse so as to deflate the political potency of the youth rebellion….. Nearly a decade before (Ken) Kesey was introduced to psychedelics as part of a government-funded drug study in Palo Alto, the CIA embarked upon a major effort to develop LSD into an effective mind control weapon. The CIA’s behavior modification programs were geared toward domestic as well as foreign populations; targets included selected individuals and large groups of people.”
Ex-Harvard professor and self-proclaimed guru of the LSD movement, Dr. Timothy Leary, acknowledged with a grin:
“The LSD movement was started by the CIA. I wouldn’t be here without the foresight of the CIA scientists….. It was all planned and scripted by the Central Intelligence, and I’m all in favor of Central Intelligence.”
Dr. Albert Hoffman, the inventor of LSD, expressed a slightly different view:
“I had perfected LSD for medical use, not as a weapon. It can make you insane or even kill you if it is not properly used under medical supervision. In any case, the research should be done by medical people and not by soldiers and intelligence agencies.”

I know a once well known musician who went through MKUltra experiments in college. He was dosed with hallucinogens and held in a cage while taunted, and later forced to listen to long periods of music through headphones, while occasionally stopping to be berated by the observers. Then he would have to write reports of his experience, during which he was criticized and mocked. They paid him a small annual stipend for the rest of his life. I asked him if he ever thought of being interviewed and making it public. He said that a friend of his once did that and then mysteriously went missing.

What some people who hear about MKUltra fail to realize is that program was very successful. The techniques they developed were put into practice on a wide scale, as the breakthroughs were made, and are now employed in a large variety of ways; one of which being the way the government interacts with the general population (press releases, psyops, law enforcement, etc)

The dude that had the best LSD in my dorm swore to us he got it for free and never charged us for it (which I honestly believe because what kid of drug dealer gives out free LSD and acid constantly? There’s a reason you needed to do these sorts of things on ones memory and it was not for their usage in commission of controlling those for ops but to implement the second phase of it which was convert implantation of a “neuralink like” technology that we began using in actual combat teams for specOps personnel (that I was aware of in the 90s.) Some knew they were getting these and some didn’t. Mainly the implants were used at the team leader level for instantaneous communication and transference of orders and intel on highly dynamic operations where things could change “boom boom boom” on the fly and instantaneous control or info could actually be exchanged or actually remotely asserted on an operator if need be, basically think the movie “Gamer” with G. Butler. Also the interface of being able to always record what’s happening without the need of a camera, audio and comms, even user access in the “minds eye” as I understood it to drones, etc. All this for whatever purpose you can imagine in the field this had serious use and application. So this stuff with Musk and his company Neuralink is nothing new and the capabilities of this stuff is far more advanced than just monkeys playing Pong with it’s mind which is nothing new either. They can use monkeys to run robots and all sorts of stuff… Anyway, obviously this stuff is highly classified still but for those acting like what Musk is doing is something he cooked up is just ludicrous. Any tech that can be exploited on a battlefield gets top priority and it out decades before the public ever even knows about it’s existence.
Now the scary part. I want people to remember the Green Bê-èts that came home in the 2001/02 time frame and they were taking their whole family out then themselves and think about why this is… Think about what I just told you. You get some guys that shared the wrong things with the wrong people that didn’t know they had this and they get “activated” basically to do all this without their knowledge or control over themselves. Think about how scary a group of these guys is in the wrong hands. That’s why the knowledge and control over this stuff is so tight lipped and why Musk has people leaving his company doing this stuff left and right because those dark powers that be don’t want people using and exploiting these technologies how they please. It’s not meant for private hands and I think Musk knows this and just does not care. Because I guarantee he’s been approached to not do it or at least not at a civilian level past something that the Gov couldn’t fully utilize and control as they see fit. Anyway. Think about the implications all this stuff has even used in the right way. It would make a person a genius once fully activated and utilized. You could be the jeopardy champion for ever or get kicked out of every casino in the world once you’ve taken them all for a million a piece or before you’re black listed from them all (just to think of some of the potential fun aspects of it).

I live in the area of Lackland AFB and I’ve always been in disbelief of how so many people visit the base each year from all over the country to attend military graduation events, and the city has never invested in improving the neighborhood directly outside the Air Force base. It’s completely drug and crime ridden, psychotic, homeless, and dangerous people all over the area. It’s disappointing to know and see, as my father is a veteran and we visit the base regularly, what visitors to our city must think when they drive down the main road to the front of the base through a slum neighborhood. And it’s definitely under patrolled by local authorities or mp’s if that’s even possible.

This is fascinating. I believe I was offered a chance to participate in this experiment (sometime in the late 70’s). I was dating a physicist at the University. He had a ridiculous academic and scholarship background that anyone would envy. We were not intimate….just friends. I mentioned to him that I knew how to perform hypnosis. He kept coming back to this during dinner and when we returned to my place, he asked me if I would hypnotist him. I had not done a lot of people because I had literally learned it from a book and gone out and hypnotized my friends with some very comical results. I agreed to go ahead and do it. When I did, it was I that was stunned. When I asked his name, he gave me one that was completely. This threw me waaaay off as well as scaring me half to death because, although I knew of past life regression, I was not ready to experience this. I called the session short…..real short. Afterward, he told me that he had been adopted and had a completely different name. I had never med an adoptee before and didn’t know that they changed the babies’ names. He then, quiet seriously asked me if I wanted to get involved in a government program that had, as one of his components, hypnosis. He explained that they were trying to make men (soldiers) stronger than they perceived themselves to be…..physically that is. He only made mention of LSD as a drug that would be utilized with the hypnosis. In the 70’s I knew that the government was involved in some really weird experiments. I questioned him more about it. I question whether I would have to leave Boulder. I believe he intimated that I would have to move somewhere different to work with this group. I was very naive, was in graduate school, in Boulder, but had NEVER thought of moving that far away from my family. I was spoiled and pampered and VERY sheltered. I eventually told him that I would think about it. I never got back with him. Later, I knew that I was being recruited into that program. Glad I thought a second time about it. Now, it is only a funny story.

A great disappointment of mine is that most people hear of these official operations that have been released in FOIAs or people who testified in the Senate or the CIA/FBI admitting themselves to doing some of these things, but people look at stuff this like: “Oh hey, the crazy 60s and 70s man, what a wild time!” And they don’t suspect shit like this (or worse) has continued, but some people actually get hostile about the idea that things like this could still go on as if it were a teenage phase that the US went through and “we’re done with that now so don’t bring it up, you’re crazy.”
It’s just so frustrating. I mean I understand I can be a neurotic person, but just the fact that it seems like most people blindly accept what is right in front of them without questioning or looking any deeper!! I’m not asking anyone to believe in fanciful theories but God Damn this world is so much more complex then the good Democrats vs the bad Republicans or the good Republicans vs the bad Democrats! That shit is childish.

There are two really good reports from The Fifth Estate on this. One in the eighties and a follow in much more recent years. A Canadian women was subjected to it. After years of fighting the government they finally said yes.. it happened. The doctor in the states mentioned here also ran a hospital in Canada.

Back in my younger (complete dumbass) days when I lived in Northern California I used to go out drinking with my friends to this one particular bar every Thursday night which was karaoke night. Before I’d go out most times I would take Xanax and then drink pretty heavily. The next day people would ask me about things or talk about things I did that I had absolutely ZERO recollection of. I remember someone telling me that they liked the way I sang the song WAR PIGS karaoke. HUH? I didn’t remember getting up to sing that song or telling the guy running the karaoke machine I wanted to sing that song or actually singing that song at all. More than one person talked about it though…so I guess it happened…along with a bunch of other stuff they were saying that I said and did that I didn’t remember at all and still don’t. There was a 4 to 6 hour period of my life that was a complete and total blackout. After reflecting on that for a few days I remember thinking to myself… I COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE and I would have absolutely no recollection of doing it.
If I could accidentally make this blackout happen through my own stupidity by mixing alcohol and Xanax…imagine what these scientists and psychologist could do to people with LSD when they were studying this and THEIR ACTUAL GOAL was to make people experience these periods of complete and total blackout where they would have absolutely no recollection of anything they had done or said when they came out of the their blackout.

I used to never believe in people being able to be hypnotized. I know for a fact now it is true and can be done . My best friend was invited to be on a show and he was one of the guests that was invited up on the stage among several other people. Some of the people were not hypnotized but my friend and three other people were the last ones sitting on stage. When people came out of the trance they were asked to go sit back down in their chair in the audience. The hypnotist had my friend doing some very strange things how do I know he wasn’t faking it because he couldn’t hold a straight face while he was doing these things if he was knowingly doing them. He never laughed or broke a smile while he was doing these things on stage one of the things that the hypnotist made them do was.. he said to the four people on the stage that there was a horrible odor coming from the person next to them. He said to put your face in the other person’s lap where the odor was coming from everybody on stage did it without breaking a smile. Do you honestly think they would have done that knowingly, putting their nose in someone else’s lap there was only one girl on the stage and three men. Do you think men would do that to each other, no! My friend was on the stage for about an hour and 15 minutes he had the four people go out in the audience and lap dance and the guys would lap dancing with other guys. My friend would have never done that unless he was hypnotized. When they came to they didn’t know what had happened and wanted to know when the show was going to start .

I’ve been a Bay Area resident all 37 years of my life, and it’s no secret to anyone who is part of my dad’s generation that since 64 the CIA was doing mind control experiments with LSD at the Veterans Medical Center in Menlo Park, and stealing samples was absurdly easy. If you wanted to participate they took all comers. Before it was criminalized and the first Owsley improvement of the formula were made, the government’s LSD-25/Delysid was supposed to be the most potent euphoric acid ever. Coincidentally enough, the same facility at that VA Center in Menlo Park has been my methadone clinic for years. It’s a weird facility.

My mother-in-law has told me stories about how the government put Catholic organizations on the reservations to gut them of their heritage and culture, they made her cut her hair Force them to stop speaking their native language and practicing their culture and learning it in the schools she went to a Catholic boarding school and told me many horrifying stories of how those Catholic nuns treated her.

Dr Ewan Cameron was an MKULTRA shrink at the Allen Institute which is affiliated with McGill University. I know several people who are survivors, or children of survivors, of Cameron’s “treatment ” called Psychic Driving. The 1st whistle-blower was Val Olikoff, who was the wife of a Canadian MP. Another was a doctor who wrote a book called IN THE SLEEP ROOM. I believe that all victims who came forward were compensated. Cameron was a CIA paid psychiatrist who died while climbing a cliff in Upstate New York. I’ve been at several conferences in Chicago where there were many MKULTRA survivors and their therapists.

I believe this is where the whole idea of Project Montauk came from, what everyone now knows as “Stranger Things” (not exactly but Stranger Things was supposed to be called Project Montauk). I just remember searching about all of this when I was a teenager living near there cause pothead conspiracy theorists would say shit like “Plumb Island does all kinds of experiments on animals and people” and then I went down this wormhole of information from MK Ultra to “Patterning” to “The Montauk Experiment”.

I used to watch The Omen, Exorcist, K-horror, and go to sleep like meh or run in the pitch dark at 4:30 AM through eerie lonely roads without a care (kerala,india), but after watching JFK movie and going through interviews I went to sleep with my grandma for 3 days. This was some 7 years ago. I was scared shitless. No kidding, I’m the goto ‘brave guy’ in all my social circles. Now in 2020, im fucking creeped out here after watching this. Anyone interested in this or who just wants to see it in action I recommend watching Derren Brown the assassin. Derren is a British hypnosis guru and at one of his shows he tests several people to see who is most receptive. Once he chooses a man he gets him to sign a release agreeing to be filmed and hypnotised but he believes it is just for the show sitting in ice cold water and the usual tricks but over several weeks under trance he is conditioned to react to certain stimuli by picking up a gun and shooting a target. Just how he is conditioned is fascinating using smell as well as sight and starting with a bullseye target but slowly moving up to actual figures. The climax comes when he is at a show starring Stephen Fry (the target) in front of a normal audience except for the one section he & his girlfriend sit in which is filled with actors who know what to expect and obviously Stephen Fry knows what to expect and has a fake blood pack on just like they do in the movies. After the show begins a lady comes in and sits right in front of “the mark” she is wearing polkadots which is one of the triggers she is also wearing a particular scent also a trigger she sets down a bag with a gun in and then gives the coded command word and without hesitation he grabs the gun and empties it aiming at Mr Fry who collapses on stage, the audience screams but our guy just sits down without a care in the world. Afterwards they take him backstage and ask him what happened and he doesn’t remember anything just being at the show. They then show him the footage and the shock on his face is unreal you can see him go green. We’ll worth watching I will leave a link below as I know it’s on youtube

So as far as the part about the little girl who went missing I have too many questions. First off why was it said that the parents went to the bar at around midnight and let there’s kids be alone in the parking lot, as if it is a normal situation?? Just sounds crazy. But after everything happens they find the airman who is the alleged suspect and then the body of the little girl, and the airman has no recollection or knowledge about what happened. I just am confused and a little apprehensive to believe that the airman was part of one of these experiments. Because even if he was a test subject how the hell would they know about the parents going to the bar and the girl being outside? I would think they had to know or else it means the airman was coincidentally at that same parking lot at the same time as the girl.also is the idea or end goal of mk ultra was to create killers who forget their crime , why would they target a little girl to be the victim? I want to believe it but I’m leaning more towards the airman for whatever reason happen to see the little girl and since she was in a bar parking lot he was probly at the bar getting drunk which can explain the “amnesia” effect. He could have just snapped for some reason or he could have been hiding a secret that he was into kids and he made it his reality. I could be totally wrong about everything.

I stopped after the initial story of the girl and made my comment above and after I continued to watch and it is said that this could have been and experiment gone wrong. After hearing that I could see that being plausible but I’d still have to second guess all possible scenarios

I was targeted in 2013.. horrible and terrifying. Was judged for speaking out was forced to get mental evaluation to return to work.. I suffer from PTSD and cried everyday for 6 years . I’m mostly healed from the trauma but the memories scare me. Is it possible that serial killer Dean Corll also had connections to MK-Ultra? He was in the army in the mid-60s but managed to get himself an honorable discharge after only 10 months. He was a homosexual who apparently started his killing spree after service (again, at a time when the CIA was very interested in sexual blackmail operations). He recruited/manipulated/indoctrinated at least a couple teenage kids in his endeavors. There were allegations that were never proven but probably never really probed of possible connections to child sex slavery rings that we might dismiss if not for the fact that at least one of Corll’s photographed victims has never been identified. John Wayne Gacy (and probable unidentified accomplices) might be another one worth further examination.

I read Tom O’Neill’s book after I first saw this interview and recommend it. Very readable and informative. Very well documented. This man dedicated his life to exposing corruptions behind the scene.

My mother went to school with the LaBianca children. She can’t even hear about the crimes it’s so upsetting knowing her lovely classmates lost their parents this way. We often forget the victims of this crime and focus on the infamy and celebrity of the perpetrators. The son was just a normal, happy, popular high school student who lost his whole family and privacy. So tragic.

At the time of Manson Family, my family lived around 5 miles from the Spawn ranch. We. would see the family in their bus around the neighborhood, they would go to the supermarkets in the area, go through the trash bins for food. My friends and I would wonder about them but never tried to search them out. We decided they were trouble, so perhaps we had some fear. After they were arrested, we knew that we did right thing, by not allowing our curiosity get the best of us.

One of my earliest memories is being in downtown L.A. (We lived in the suburbs, about 30 miles away from downtown, but we would go downtown every once in awhile to pick things up like…copies of our birth certificates for school/sports activities. I’m guessing that’s why we were there that day). I must have been about 3 years old.
This day stands out in my memory… I remember walking down the street with my mom and older siblings. We were walking near the courthouse…there were a bunch of people outside the courthouse. And I just remember my mom redirecting us to cross the street from all the courthouse commotion…she grabbed my hand aggressively…and her grip on my hand was so tight it was hurting me as she half dragged me across the street. I remember looking at all the commotion and seeing two women with X’s on their foreheads heading towards the courthouse.
I didn’t put it together until I was a teenager.

I’m 66 years old, grew up in the Bay Area during “the time” and have never been interested in the shadowy kind of glorifying the whole Manson thing. This is such a sensible approach that, for the first time ever, I am interested in reading the story. That Altamont and the end of that whole reign came up tells me this guy has pulled it all together. Sadly, intelligence keeps on pulling their bullshit on people. Excellent interview. The Manson motive rarely mentioned: Manson was running scared on the murder of Gary Hinman and was trying to take the heat off. One of the guys involved was being held by police and was probably likely to ‘sing.’ By initiating sensational murders, he wanted to deflect attention from the Hinman murder which was brutal. No one ever seems to mention this. Considering how diabolical Manson was, it could have been a confluence of many factors, helter skelter being a smokescreen.

I read the book. It’s an amazing account of a man who fell down the rabbit hole. I learned a lot but came away more confused and full of questions than before. I’ve read many many books on the Manson Family. I’m pretty well informed. This book takes it to the next level. Don’t read it unless you’ve read Helter Skelter, Manson , Going Down Fast, the Garbage People and the Family. They are all great page turners and full of fresh information. Something weirder than the murders themselves is going on. As the writer discovers in his Decades long obsession with the most infamous murders of the twentieth century. The Bug interviews with him are demented and distressing.

Manson told us why he sent them to kill those people. His best friend Bobby beausoleil had been arrested for a murder. He wanted to create a similar crime scene similar to the one Bobby was accused of to suggest the killer / killers were still out there.

I have also read that the massacres were meant to cover up a murder committed by one of his strong arms, Bobby Beausoleil. BB had been sent to extort money out a musician acquaintance, Gary Hinman, who supposedly had inherited a large sum of money (he hadn’t). BB tortured Hinman but went too far and killed the poor guy. He left cryptic clues implicatin the Black Panthers. BB was found the next day sleeping in Hinman’s car with blood all over him and the murder weapon in the front seat. Manson sent his people to commit a couple of more brutal murders in the same area to make the BB murder seem to be one in a series of murders by the Black Panthers. Manson sent Tex Watson to make sure they didn’t screw up the job.

I agree that the motives given by the prosecutors in the Manson trial are bogus; however, I do not agree that the motive was to destroy the hippy and panther movement. It had to be more sinister than that, its more complicated than that if you look at the MKUltra experiments and where they originated.

I have a question for anyone who can answer. I recognize that Once Upon a Time… is fiction, but when the assailants are in the car at the end of the street and the girl in the backseat gives a monologue about murdering the people in Hollywood who taught us to murder. She’s obviously referring to Hollywood elite, who was/is Jewish. Polanski is Jewish, and made _Rosemary’s Baby_, a film that reframed the happiness of childbirth into satanism. Then they went and killed Polanski’s pregnant wife? Seems more than a coincidence to me.
Is there any evidence that the girl said this, or anything like it?
Why would Tarantino include this monologue in the movie?
When race war is mentioned most folks think of black versus white but doesn’t it also imply Jews versus Gentiles?

I remember reading a very gritty book entitled Sick City, where the MacGuffin of the story was an old 8mm reel of orgies that took place in the Tate household. The cast of characters in this book really stood out as depraved addicts that had no real interest in the film’s contents, but only the opportunities it would afford on the black market.
Good read, kind of like a grimy L.A. version of Guy Ritchie’s Snatch, but the diamond was instead a snuff film involving Sharon Tate and instead of wisecracking British tough guys, it was instead a cast of colorful addicts from skid row.
I want to give credit to my late brother for having the best taste in literature, culture, and history and leaving his niche library to me. Tony O’Neil would be just a name if it wasn’t for my weirdo little brother.

I heard an interview with Bugliosi back in the 2000’s regarding the Kennedy assassination. I found him to be transparently full of shit. He just expected the audience to except the official narrative because he’s Vincent Bugliosi and he prosecuted Charles Manson so just take his word for it. Really disappointing because I read his book growing up and was expecting a really compelling interview by a famous rock star prosecutor and what I got was a lot of really vacant gas lighting by an extreme narcissist with mental issues.

I read the book. I am 9 minutes through the video. I always let Roman Polanski slide for his crime because he committed it right after the murders — or like within the next year or two. I remember thinking the theory of ‘Helter Skelter’ was absurd but believing that they did do it because they were lost, abused kids who fell into a bad crowd. I don’t know what to think. I am going to read this book.

The motive of the Tate/Labianca murders was to try and get Bobby B out of jail by doing killings that were similar to the Hinman murder by stabbing and writing messages in blood on the walls and stuff but it obviously didn’t work because Bobby was caught pretty much red handed driving Hinman’s car and had the murder weapon still with him.

I could never make sense of the theory of the case (which happened when I was a junior in high school, and I was born and grew up in the SFV not far from where it happened) until Bugliosi spoke in my law school in 1976 (I think it was). He laid out the whole silly Helter Skelter theory and it really made sense, but just from the perspective of this insane narcissistic racist cult leader–it was not supposed to make sense to us. Manson had a nightmare childhood–you could not imagine anything worse happening to f up; a kid’s mind mentally, emotionally. (Bugliosi understood him a bit too well?)
But if this was all an attempt to make hippie culture or whatever look terrible, they sure failed. No one saw Manson as leftist–the idiots carved swastikas on their faces! Nothing about Manson was hippyish. We dismissed him as insane immediately. Both Manson and the girls were as ignorant as people could possibly be–no education among any of them–the media had to use their early high school grades to paint them as good, smart girls (to shock readers) because they had nothing else. Ignorance is the number one qualification to be an attractive convert to crazy cultish conspiracy theories–no critical thinking, no experience with any contrary thought or behavior…anything sounds reasonable to those who have nothing else to compare it to.
Btw, Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere and the Raiders had lived there on Cielo Drive with Terry Melcher and was much more famous at the time. We’d been teeny boppers and into American Bandstand and Where The Action Is (Dick Clark’s weekday afternoon version) in junior high school and found the house from a photo in a magazine (all their homes were photographed, so we found them all)–made us even more frightened, esp when babysitting late up in the hills alone…

I watched ‘The Haunting Of Sharon Tate’ it’s about the interview Sharon gave..
It involves Jay Sebring And the house in Benedict Canyon. No, not the house where she and Jay were killed. That was on Cielo, just off Benedict. But the houses can’t be much more than a mile apart. Anyways, Sharon used to date Jay. This was before she met Roman Polanski, the man she married. She and Jay went together for a long time. Jay had just bought the house in Benedict Canyon. It had once been owned by Paul Bern. It was into that house that Bern had brought his bride, Jean Harlow. And it was in that house that Bern had committed suicide.
An eery interview with Tate has revealed that in 1967 she had a violent dream so disturbing it haunted her a year later. According to an interview with Dick Kleiner in Fate magazine, Tate thought it was a premonition of some sort and didn’t know how to make of it.
August 1, 1968, – almost a year to the day before she was slain in her home – Kleiner asked whether she had any psychic experiences.
“Yes, I have had a psychic experience – at least I guess that’s what it was – and it was a terribly frightening and disturbing thing for me. It happened a year or so ago. Maybe you can explain it,” she replied.
Tate wasn’t sure why but she told Kleiner she couldn’t sleep one night: “I had a funny feeling,” she said. Isomewhere between being awake and asleep, she had a vision.
“I saw this creepy little man,” she told Kleiner. “He looked like all the descriptions I had ever read of Paul Bern.” According to Tate, the figure entered the bedroom and ‘dashed around the room’ frightening her so much that she jumped up and ran towards the stairs in her bathrobe.
But once she reached the staircase the “dream” only got worse.
“I saw something or someone tied to the staircase,” she said. “Whoever it was – and I couldn’t tell if it was a man or a woman but knew somehow that it was either Jay Sebring or me – he or she was cut open at the throat.”
She needed a drink, for nerve-steadying purposes. She didn’t know where the bar was. Something told her to open a bookcase. Inside, there was a hidden bar. She poured a shot.
There was some wallpaper below the hidden bar. For some reason, she picked at it, tore it away. It covered a lovely copper base to the bar. She wondered why it had been papered over.
Strange, how the mind works. Worrying about things like that when ghosts are wandering around upstairs and mutilated bodies are tied to the staircase downstairs. She thought it must have been a dream. She decided to find out and went back upstairs…and fell to sleep.
When Jay came back, the next morning, he woke her. She remembered the events of the night before. It must have been a dream — but…
“Hey,” he called, “who tore the wallpaper off by the bar down here?”
…..
Was the ghost of Paul bern trying to show Sharon something that night? Whatever it was its EERIE af.

Tn) & remember so vividly the crazy stories about Satan (CM) being housed so close to my home. There is a book by Pathfinder Press titled Cointelpro: the FBI’s Secret War on Political Freedom. I would recommend this. A lot of political groups were paid off by the government to keep quiet & not sue. The SWP was the only political party & activist group to sue the FBI & government & won. It took around 15 years, yet it happened. Goes way back to the beginning of Hoover’s career. Cointelpro was about busting unions & working people organizing. I must say,this is a great book as well.

There is a fair bit of discussion in this interview about motives. It is important to remember that motive is not an essential part if the Corpus Delecti. In order to secure a conviction, the prosecution must only prove, to the exclusion of reasonable doubt, that the accused commited the crime(s). It is not necessary to prove why. Consequently, all this theorizing as to “why” is interesting but irrelevant as to the convictions. Casting aspersions on the motivations is irrelevant. The Manson Family did the crimes. Proven, admitted, convicted, done.

One theory concerning the murder of Stephen Parent is that when he was walking through the property he witnessed the victims being chased down and slaughtered that’s when Tex went after him with a pistol. My mothers very first fist fight was with Sadie May (Susan Atkins). My mom beat her ass into the dirt. Then later on (when I was about 4) we lived in a town called Brookdale, CA. We lived in a small cabin, one of about 6 that were satellites to a “main house”. The main house is right across the street from the famous Brookdale Lodge. The people that lived in the main house were also Manson affiliates; Frank and Kay (Kitty). I met my best friend of 39 years (RIP Aaron) at that time. For the next few years we had some crazy experiences that kids that young never should. To make this story stranger, less than 50 yards from that main house, was a small candy shop. It was owned and run daily, by Shirley Black, a.k.a. Shirley Temple.

Anyone who lived there and was familiar with the people involved knew Polanski was complicit, if not guilty. It was never a question of who and why, it was how. Polanski hated that Sharon got pregnant, he did not want to be a father, he was convinced that it wasn’t his “kid” but to announce that would expose him as the sexual deviant he is and how he drugged and pimped out his wife. How did Polanski pull it off, Tom? Stop adding all the drama when it’s simple what really happened. Everybody wanted a piece of the sensationalism pie and push their radical political agendas.

The CIA MK Ultra program was designed to create mind-controlled subjects who would act upon instructions (assets) to commit acts that the CIA wanted to occur but could deny any culpability (plausible deniability). Such assets were hypnotized and instructed to commit murder.
The murder of Sharon Tate was not an act of random violence; she was the intended victim.
The others present in the house when Sharon Tate was killed were killed only because they were witnesses to the murder. All the other murders were committed for the purpose of making it appear that the murder of Sharon Tate was a random act of violence.
Neither Charles Manson nor his ‘followers’ had a motive for the murder of Sharon Tate.
However, Roman Polanski did have a motive if Sharon Tate was going to divorce him and if she threatened to testify about how Polanski sexually abused her; especially if she knew about his pedophilia. A wife cannot be compelled to testify against her husband, but if she was planning to divorce Roman, then she could testify against him for child sexual abuse.

O’Neill did some great research and presented some necessary revisions of the long accepted official story of the Tate/LaBianca murders. But he seems confused on certain points that should have been more obvious to him. If you want to get an even more complete picture of what actually happened I recommend reading Nikolas Schreck’s book The Manson File. Schreck knew and interviewed people in both the Manson family and the Polanski/Tate circle of friends and come up with what I think is the most accurate view of what motivated the murders. The people at the Tate house and Tex Watson were not complete strangers to each other, but travelled in the same Hollywood drug dealing circles. There was a drug burn revenge aspect to the original killings that O’Neill misses. Watson knew Melcher too. Manson didn’t order the Tate murders but when informed of them ny Watson he exasperatedly went back to the house with them to demonstrate how to leave false clues to throw the police off the trail. The Helter Skelter thing was being used as a ruse to in their minds help their imprisoned buddy Bobby Beausoleil by making it look like the Hinman murder was part of a Black Panther spree. O’Neill did dig up one very interesting and curious CIA connection but I don’t think Manson was carrying out some MKUltra program. In fact I don’t think Manson was quite the mind control hippie guru he’s always made out to be.

To be honest, l have no idea what these two are trying to say. At the end of it all, all l know is that Sharon Tate deserved a hell of a lot better, both in her marriage and in every other aspect of her short life. Her murder is an absolute tragedy. R.I.P. From what I gathered Manson had them killed because of his dreams of stardom going bust. He probably just used his philosophies to justify it to his followers. Given his history and whatnot you can bet the murder was committed for personal and not ideological reasons

I was 9 years old when this happen. My family lived in a huge craftsman 4 bedroom house, and I never saw a house key in our front door. After this event here in LA, I saw a key being used to lock and unlock, this massive magohany door. This changed EVERYTHING.

He didn’t mention the fact that there was an incident that alleges Manson upon some time went to the house looking for Melcher angered as it were that Melcher had not produced the recording which Manson assumed Melcher had promised to do having complimented him on his skill as a lyricist. But of course if anything Melcher was likely humoring a character he readily could see was a problematic individual. Few took Manson’s prophetic statements about a “race war” seriously, not even Tex Watson who only joined up with Mason because of the readily availability of women and drugs he could consume something that was never possible back in his native Texas. I seriously doubt this was a COINTEL PRO operation because it was such a chaotic operation and the fact no one expected that Steven Parent who had traveled there to try and sell a radio to the grounds keeper who lived in a facility to the rear of the home and had slept listened to music and eventually went to sleep and slept through the entire scenario after Parent had left his residence with the lights not on or so low it wasn’t possible to even know he was there. Of course Parent was stopped just before exiting the property and murdered by Watson with the gun in his possession. I read Bugliosi’s book “Helter Skelter” and never thought the ludicrous motive that he presented was in anyway a serious reason for committing such carnage, but believable in the sense that many of these people were by that time off their rocker and Mason being the boastful fraud he always was knew they were easily manipulated. So it was believable he could make them embrace such nonsense. If what I gathered is credible Manson had gone there one day to speak to Melcher who had moved out of the rental by then and was summarily dismissed by the Polish boyfriend of Abigal Folger the coffee heiress both of whom were victims the night they were murdered and was house sitting the place when the incident took place. Manson was outraged by the incident and having some foreigner with poor English sending him away like so much riff raff and the fact Manson who despite being an ex-con was still a little guy and thus physically intimidated by this man. That I assume was the motive for the murder for Manson and all the rest simply peripheral information.

Can’t wait to hear from the Truth & Reconciliation committee.. and I hope they are taking measures to ensure their safety and to preserve the evidence they’ve uncovered. This shit has gone to a whole new level since the 60’s and it would be naive to think these institutions have suddenly become ethical or that they even care about damage they’ve done and continue to do.

A subject close to my heart. I’ve read Tom’s book a couple of times, and watched every interview. Rogan interview was a turning point, no doubt. A lot can be said, but to me the ultimate truth for history can only come from the full release of all agency and similar files to the judgement of history. Certainly Tom has done his best to get them, but blocks and refusals by these agencies make this seemingly impossible. We have every reason to question why and have the greatest suspicions. I wish I could feel optimistic about full release of files and the full judgement of history, but I can’t. I’m sorry, America is too corrupt, and its agencies too little scrutinised. Unless some whistle-blowers do the right thing, I fear the truth will remain elusive. Truthfully, it makes me angry.
Also, with respect to Tom, he keeps saying he doesn’t like to draw conclusions or to speculate the whole story, and we should draw our own conclusions, but then he repeatedly says he hasn’t included all he knows in the book. Those two things are incompatible. He was so scared of being called a ‘conspiracy theorist’ he muted the end of the book.
I also agree with you on an American truth and reconciliation type process. America has its Dorian Gray painting in the attic, rancid and toxic, reflecting its sins and criminality, and it needs to see the light of day.

It never occurred to me that there would be more dots to connect. I agree with Tom that the Warren Commission was the end of innocence…..

I read O’Neil’s book and it prompted me to study some footage from the trial which I had only seen glimpses of prior to reading the book. And what jumped out at me more than anything else was the “spectacle” of it. So much of the Manson group’s antics seemed loosely scripted, coordinated, and intentionally provocative. Of course for it to truly function as spectacle there would have to be a level of coordination with the media and then framed by them for a more or less generalized target audience. Now unlike O’Neil, I come at this stuff from the angle that intelligence agencies are behind everything, or at least anything that is morally objectionable, harmful, subversive, etc. (Yes I’m a conspiracy theorist which I’m not boastful nor shameful about) So it wasn’t difficult for me to see how the CIA could have concocted and facilitated this operation of using two of it’s favorite compromised assets ie the media, and crazy sex cults, in order to create this presentation of spectacle for the television viewing 1960s American Public. So that got me thinking about motive. Why hijack the court proceeding like this? Which got me thinking about the nature of spectacle and how it acts as a form of propaganda, grabbing the audience’s full attention, mobilizing their emotional reactions, and in the process, dissolving any potential critical/rational thinking about the situation in question and of course their role in it and other peripheral operations. In other words it serves as a nifty psychological trick to obscure their on-going, behind-the-scenes, unconstitutional skull duggery of the American People. Not to mention scare the f*ck out of them. It’s just crazy.

The conciliation patterns makes perfect sense because that cause and effect reaction pattern is already in place. Applying it here, fits too. It’s an amazing era. My teenage years were the 60s and I was a “flower child”. This history changes the narrative.

These revelations, though not 100% provable by the sounds of it, raise further questions on sense making for me. I’m generally a cynical soul, in that established power has, can and will abuse its position. I wonder what else will bubble up from the depths?!

Amazing journalism, inspirational. The difficult part comes in when our idols, the musicians of that time start to be linked to the agencies operations. Laurel canyon artists like the Doors (Admiral George Stephen Morrison, Jim’s dad literally started the vietnam war in 1964 with the gulf of tonkin incident), frank Zappa (dad was a chemical engineer working on the chemicals for the war), Byrds, Beach boys, etc etc etc were all military brats, controlled opposition to the anti war movement. Heartbreaking stuff.

Uncovering quality investigative material with a ‘good faith’ investigator is so valuable. Just be cautious of ‘bad faith’ conspiracy writers who are fabricating nonsense for a quick buck.

This reminds very much of what Hunter S Thompson was talking about all the years that he was writing his Gonzo Journalism. Strange how Hunter started getting very active again later on in his life around 2004-2005 with his last two books Kingdom of Fear and Hey Rube in uncovering this similar murky side of the American secret history pertaining to 9/11, etc… Also bizarre that he died in peculiar circumstances in 2005 and his last book, which included all his letters from 1977 until his death, called The Mutineer: Rants and Ravings from the mountaintop was never really released to the general public even though it has been registered at the library of Congress. When you read his other letters like in Fear and Loathing in America, which was released and is generally available, it somehow indicated that there was more to the letters then just the one dimensional character that most people portrayed Hunter as. I have the impression that Hunter was one of the last loose ends of the 60’s counterculture that was removed from our collective memory. How his last book was never really released and has been buried is bizarre and baffling certainly knowing how popular Hunter was up until his death. Now no one really talks about him anymore…

I am surprised and intrigued that Rebel Wisdom is dipping its toe into this pool.
I know RB’s main thread is sensemaking, i.e. making sense of things. I applaud David for being a truth seeker. My question to him, as a journalist:
Why this interview/information, and why NOW? (Is C-19 not relevant anymore?).
Another question to Dacid/Rebel Wisdom: How do you find the balance in trying to stay as objective as possible? If I watch VICE documentaries I cannot help but wonder if there are subjective/ hidden agendas behind the reporting.
I think we need more wisdom and less knowledge.
We are all trying to find out what is really going on, in our governments, in the world, what is true and what is real in our own lives.

Manson wasn’t a gift. He was an actor playing a role in the LARP psyop that went a long ways to ending the bohemian rhapsody.
Tom ties it all in, through Jack Ruby to one of the greatest psyops ever. The JFK pantomime sacrifice ritual held on the sacred freemasonic ground of Dealey plaza.
The CIA are experts at running these psyops and no doubt have a big role in the one that’s playing out whirled wide right now.

Very disappointing I must say – on the part of the host. This author is making some very extraordinary allegations and yet I must say David Fuller reacted as though it is some obvious, unassailable truth that is being uttered here that somehow `Conterintel Pro’ was responsible for the murders of Sharon Tate and the others … but it is clear that the author is engaged in motivated reasoning – that is trying to find evidence to find a conclusion he’s already come to… `I tried to find link between Jack Ruby and [psychiatrist]’… `I tried to find the link between so and so and so and so…’ Yet not even a challenge from Fuller, who then concludes his fanboy interview by calling for a `truth and reconciliation commission’ again as though what the author is saying is some obvious truth. In just one instance of dubious assertions, the author describes how `for months the police were describing the Tate murders as a drug deal gone wrong… then all of a sudden (“all of a sudden”!) they were claiming in Dec 1969 that Manson ordered his followers to killed Tate etc., because of the Helter-Skelter race war…’ Yes ‘all of a sudden’ the police were pursuing this line of inquiry because Susan Atkins confessed to two fellow inmates at the prison where she was being held that she and the others killed Tate, Jay Sebring etc and the Labiancas. They had a very mistaken impression as to what had occurred on Aug 8 and 9 1969 in LA which got them precisely nowhere until Sadie / Susan Atkins started blabbing off. For someone who is always talking about having `difficult conversations’, not to mention the value of `sense-making’ I really expected more of David Fuller.

I have researched the topic, viewed Manson interviews, looked into Polanski, and what Sharon Tate was into, and the insiders that discussed the case. Now I am looking at this situation from a new perspective. Was Charles Manson a man lost within the system? Or did he have more things about him that he won’t tell us, yet the insiders know, they aren’t discussing this with me.. Tom O’Neill really worked hard on this, and showed me how far down the rabbit hole this really goes, and when you think you understand it, I know I didn’t understand anything. Manson mentions the people in government are not good people, our leaders are not working for the people, he knew what happened, and played along with it. Did Manson mind control the people around him? The evidence would seem to say, yes. Now Manson is dead, and the people he brainwashed and killed for him without remorse are going to waste their lives and die in the prison system, all be design, yet we didn’t see it.

Saw Tom O’Neill at Joe Rogan’s podcast, and ordered the book immediately. Was my read of the summer 2020 – highly recommended! And if you, like me, feel confused about the intense name dropping in the first 100 pages or so, take notes about names and relations to each other. Helped me a great deal to fully understand the big web of suspects and acquaintances that Tom O’Neill lay out. Incredible piece of journalism!

I LOVE the endnotes! Actually thought it was typical “cheating” with adding blank resources, so I tended to check all those that caused my doubts. I guess it took mi some months to go thru book with reading additional resources but it actually made it much more “fun” and satisfying. Looking forward seeing more from Tom, I guess the next book also will be one of few I am actually not “borrowing” from libgen but buying in paper edition.
Also – he’s so good in being a guest! I didn’t expected so many backstage stories (that I actually never heard of before!).

I have become a massive Tom fan. This interview is superb! The Marilyn Manson part was so great! I am also loving this podcast! I have listened to quite a few episodes and I am really impressed with the host. He does a fantastic job at conducting an interview. He is great at asking questions that clarify the information without crowding the guest. Good stuff! Also, super interesting guests! I’m into it 100% 💯👍✨

Tom O’Neill deserves a Pulitzer. I have read this book and recommended it to (and bought it for) students and am never tired of hearing O’Neill talk about his 20-year slog. And to hear him say that there is more and maybe a second book. So glad he teamed up with Dan Piepenbring and this story saw the light of day. The audiobook is a wonderful listen.

I’ve read roughly 15 books on this subject before I read Tom’s book. I’ve never believed the Helter Skelter narrative. Tom certainly has paid a great price to find answers to questions that have been ignored. My hats off to him and a big Thank You for your dedication to truth, something hard to find in today’s world. I’m just beginning to read 5 to die by Jerry LeBlanc and Ivor Davis released in 1970 before “Bug’s” fairytale. This book, from what research I’ve done, was mostly compiled from interviews with Paul Watkins, Brooks Poston and Paul Crockett. With Crockette’s help Watkins and Poston were able to break free from Charlie’s mind games.

This has made me think about Nick Brookfield’s doco with Aileen Warnous. She said two things that stuck out to me and even more so now I’ve begun reading Tom’s book…
1- She tells Nick to “wake up” because the police knew she was killing people but let her carry on.
2- She mentioned to Nick that the guards were wrecking her head by sending sound waves into her cell and turning the vibrations up and down over and over.
I don’t think she was lying about any of this.

The drug that he said Terry Melcher was into is called “Dilaudid” aka Hydromorphone. It has a rush comparible to heroin, but is a pharmaceutical pill. For the discerning opiate addict. Definitely one of my all time favorite interviews. Regarding SirHan… RFK JR has been absolutely clear that SirHan failed at shooting RFK as ballistics showed his bullets where everywhere except in RFK and it was a cop who stuck his gun up into the right rear part of his head behind his ear that killed him. RFK Had muzzle residue from the cops gun that was at point blank range. SirHan just missed multiple times…. The cop was…. A back up?? But RFK jr has talked about this in interviews. It was a cop who pulled it off….. SirHan fucked up. Feel free to cross-reference this info as RFK JR said that so many people all just believe that it was SirHan…. The dude missed. It was a cop. Just behind RFK on his right side placed his pistol right at the back side of RFK s head and the bullet from his pistol went into the head behind his right ear. Sorry for the Ramble. I am just surprised that I remember this.. 😂.. Awesome interview 100% ⭐🙏

Many suspected something wasn’t right with the whole Charlie Manson story, he had help, a lot of it to get the story the way “they” wanted it told.

I am so thankful to Tom for these interviews. I will read his book Chaos. I have two daughters who have tried to talk to me about the incident as many of us born in the sixties and were young remember how it affected us. It has been hard to talk about because of the emotions it brings back But listening to Tom talk about the truth of what really happened helps me put it in to perspective. I really appreciate that. I can’t wait to read his book.

I’ve read the book twice and listened to the audiobook nearly half a dozen times 😅 I have also stumbled upon a few interesting books that are in the same or atleast a similar vein (most recently Weird Scenes Inside The Canyon by David McGowan which ironically was was mentioned on JRE a week or so ago, and admittedly is far more conspiratorial in nature so take it with a grain of salt. However, I will say that I’m on my second read through and I’ve been taking notes and researching some of the things on my own aa I go and surprisingly a great deal of it I have found to be true…)

One thing that I always thought important is that Tex Watson took along a long length of rope to Cielo Drive, along with wire cutters. The house had open ceiling beams and the rope was tied around the necks of the victims and over the beams. I think it shows that they knew exactly what the house was like as the rope was only used for that purpose.

Read the book when it first came out, I think Manson’s parole officers are among the best evidence for the quote theory, I really wish the author had made a post script about all the behind the scenes he talks about in this video, like the tex tapes…

I was in Prison with Chas. Watson in 1990’s for a few weeks, California Men’s Colony would see him in the Library often. He was very “stuck up” as the other convicts say, but he was smart to be aloof.

There is as much connected with the research of this book as there is in the book itself. From Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails & Marilyn Manson living in the LaBianca house years later, to the author and his collaborator partying with Marilyn Manson at his now home till dawn as the book was being published. Even Quentin Tarantino had questions about what actually happened in the sixties, as he is now releasing his novel of “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”. I cannot wait to get this book in my hands, it’s unbelievable how many people and things have come out the woodwork since publication, but he says he has enough information to write another book. I look forward to volume two. And let’s not forget the main subject, MK-ultra and our CIA drugging citizens with psychedelics, some losing their lives.

Read Maury Terry’s “The Ultimate Evil”. You can also see a watered down doc on Netflix. Tom ONeill’s work reinforces and expands upon Terry’s work. I bought hardback version of Chaos in an airport as soon as I saw it. Both of these guys are brilliant (unfortunately Maury Terry has passed away) but were/are dialed into the REAL story. I hope Tom continues to pursue this story. The implications go far beyond the original crime.

Have you ever spoken to Charles Manson’s grandson Jason Freeman? DNA testing proved this a couple
Years ago. He received his ashes. I went to school with Jason and we were good friends. The family didn’t hide it. Our circle knew. We remain friends today. Makes me wonder if he’s heard about this and if I should mention it to him.

I had previously written to Tom O’Neill before that Vincent Bugliosi ran twice for Los Angeles District Attorney – the special election in 1972 for an elected replacement for Evelle Younger who was elected California Attorney General in 1970 – and in 1974. But, I was wrong. Bugliosi did, in fact, run for California Attorney General in 1974 but lost the primary (and would have faced his former boss Evelle Younger in the General Election, had he won the Democratic Primary.) However, Bugliosi lost to a man named William Albert Norris by 57-43%. Norris, in turn, was defeated by Evelle Younger who was re-elected 55-45%
Also, a minor point, Robert McNamara was Secretary of Defense. Dean Rusk was Secretary of State.

I just listened to this guy talk about himself for 2 hours straight and deem it an almost complete waste of my time. Ive researched this case and came to the same conclusion of a Psychological operation being ran in the US, prior to the release of this book. I think this is an ongoing operation.

Charlie Manson had to be getting picked up and released not for the information or his insight on the area or the people but because he was there street level dealer they pick him up and no one suspects he leaves the police station with drugs…
It is completely a cover for their activity a judge never sees him because they do not file the paper work and he does what he would do anyway deal drugs and get high it also can help explain why so many are willing to follow his orders if they are in on the way it works he gets the dope they get the dope no cop problems because that is were it comes from they may have thought even the murders would be taken care of and who knows maybe if Sharon Tate and the others had not been famous we never would have known about any of this…
They kicked to big of a ant hill that drew to big of a stink and they(the Program) cut him lose to save the program and moved to the next one that we have not heard of…

Great interview, and I dig Tom a lot, but he’s so wrong on a number of “facts.” A lot of the stuff he “discovered” had/has been written about years ago, it’s just been forgotten by most because it isn’t the general focus of the story when talk turns to Manson. And while the whole CHAOS/MKUltra angle is fun to read and speculate about, there’s no evidence to support it. I loved the book and I hope he publishes another one that’s just as much fun to read as CHAOS.

There’s also a very interesting angle with Sharon Tate, Polanski and Jay Seabring. Tate and Seabring were a couple and rekindled their romance when this happened. She told people that she was divorcing Polanski and Polanski knew this.
She was getting back together with Seabring. After the murders, Polanski then went on PR blitz telling everyone that Seabring was a sadistic lover who tied up Tate and abused her. This then became the solidified story about Seabring. Truth is, as O’Neill uncovered, it was Polanski who abused Tate filming her having sex with his friends etc.
Polanski may have had a hand in the murders for all we know seeing as he always said they had an amazing marriage and that she would never ever cheat on him, knowing she already did. Weird shit.

The wires cut the night before at Jay’s… lends credence to the possibilitu that Roman WAS going to kill Tate because she was going to divorce Roman. Many in her circle knew she had divorce papers drawn up. Roman had changed his mind and no longer wanted the baby she was carrying. The host NEEDS to stop pausing mid conversation to tell the producer to adjust the camera or tell people in the other room to be quiet or offer Tom a water or whatever… as soon as Tom finishes telling an interesting and engaging story, instead of responding and asking follow-up questions, the host brings the conversation to a screeching halt several times.
If he really thinks those things are necessary, he needs to find a smoother/more natural way to work it into the conversation.
Very annoying.

Tom, why is Debra Tate utterly utterly disinterested in the fact that the official Bugliosi case has just unravelled with gaping holes? She seems to have nothing nice to say about you, but I’ve never heard you say anything negative about her, which is good. Does she live in a fantasy world about this story and just can’t handle the truth? I really would like to know what’s wrong with her. Surely her first and only loyalty should be to her sister Sharon and knowing the truth.

I’m confused when Tom says Manson was a docile prisoner? I’ve read Helter Skelter and at least one other bio that claimed he had attacked and sexually assaulted other inmates during his early years of incarceration. Was this true or just sensationalism?

This guy’s reactions are veeery similar to Joe Rogan’s (kinda cringy), as the studio they’re recording in… Anyway, Tom O’Neill is great, loved the book, can’t wait for the second installment.
